At Island TEFL, we offer you volunteer placement teaching opportunities at local Thai state or private schools throughout Thailand for a 1-month period. Volunteer placements are also available in resorts, hotels and other businesses, subject to availability. This experience will not only be highly beneficial to your future job prospects, it also enables you to immerse yourself in the local culture and give something back to the local community. In addition to improving your C.V. and marketability, it’s also very rewarding and lots of fun!

Teaching hours are quite flexible, so your Volunteer Placement Coordinator, working with your host volunteering venue contact person, can customise your teaching timetable to suit your individual requests. Adult classes can also be organised such as teaching small groups in local resorts, businesses and hotels.

Adding hours of practical ESL/EFL teaching experience to your CV/Resume will improve your employment opportunities, give you invaluable experience across different age and ability levels, and provide you with a unique cultural experience.

Our course is an intensive 4-week certificate TESOL/ TEFL course which will equip you with the skills and knowledge you need to take your first steps towards a new and exciting career in ESL/ EFL teaching. 1-month ESL/EFL Volunteer Teaching placement in a Thai school at one of our island locations, or at schools throughout Thailand teaching ESL students and/or or teaching adult students at local resorts / businesses.

Flexible teaching hours and days, up to 4 hours per day; 4 days per week – providing up to 60 hours of practical ESL/ EFL teaching experience with the same groups of students

Ongoing support and assistance from your Placement Coordinator for the duration of the EFL volunteer placement

Eligibility :
Minimum 18 years of age (17 years of age for Gap Year students)
A native or fluent English speaker, with excellent skills in both spoken and written English
Able to produce a high standard of work
Possess an awareness of language and a competence in English, both written and spoken, that enables the course to be undertaken successfully
Committed, presentable and reliable
No degree or previous teaching experience is required
Volunteers must obtain a current Criminal Records Check from their home country before beginning their placement in schools
